Card Word Puzzle
One of my favorite blogs is Lisa Stenz and when I saw this card I knew I had to reproduce it for my workshops.
How simple is card is but what an impact. Taking a Daisy white cardstock base I've layered a Chocolate cs piece 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" then a piece of the Pemberley B/T paper 2" x 2" on top. I've stamped the sentiment from the new Card Word Puzzle (C1494 $13.95) with Chocolat ink.
The small flower is also from the CardWord Puzzle stamp set. I've stamped it onto a scrap piece of the Pemberley B/T and cut it out. On a piece of vellum with Staz-On brown ink I've stamped the flower again then cut it out. I've mounted both pieces with mounting tape onto the center square.
Clean & simple. Thanks Lisa Stenz.

Using the Zip Strip..
Another card created by Mary Thomas. I love how she has used the Zip Strip that is on every sheet of B/T paper. On one side of the Zip Strip is the border and on the other is listed all the colors used in the paper packet.
Don't you love the flower? Using the Cricut AP cartridge for the patterned paper background and the overlay cardstock makes alot of impact. The center of the flower is the Bouquet Assortment.

Circle Card
In the new Color-Ready Garden Wooden Shapes is this cute little dragonfly. The creator of this card, Mary Thomas, has painted & embellished this darling little guy. I love how she added a pearl for the head.
Pemberley paper packet is beautiful background for this card.

Pemberley card with Water Brush
A simple card I made for my last workshop using the Card Word Puzzle (C1494 $13.95) and Indian Corn Blue ink.
I stamped the large flower with Indian Corn Blue ink and taking the water brush I softened some of the lines. I love working with the water brush as all you are using is water, which is free, and makes a big impact. Bamboo marker is used at the end of the stamins in the middle.
Pemberley B/T paper is 1/2" wide and goes the width of the card. Alittle hemp and then the sentiment stamped and mounted on Desert Sand cardstock.

Pemberley Layout
Is this gorgeous or what?!! I participate in a national swap and I'm always impressed by the artwork all these wonderful ladies create. Much to my surprise I received my friend, Mary Thomas', swap for the new paper packet called Pemberley.
This layout has so many layers and new accessories that I can only say "Great job, Mary!".
Did you notice the flowers? They are the new Color-Ready Garden Wooden Shapes (Z1718 $5.95)
24 stampable, laser-cut wooden shapes, 1" – 4½", aren't they cool?Inside each flower is the Bouquet Assortment (Z1694 $5.95) which come in
20 resin flowers: 5 each in 4 styles, 7mm and 12mm; Vanilla Cream, Indian Corn Blue, Pacifica, Honey.
Thanks Mary for the beautiful artwork. Stay tuned for more from this great paper packet.

The Sisters
My Mom is one of my best friends. She has 2 sisters whom she is good friends with too. I love that when we have gatherings the sisters are together celebrating life.
Here I've used Studio J to show them off. If you notice the stitched heart around each of them, that is an element you can easily add in Studio J. It is easy to resize to fit whatever you are highlighting.
Also notice the different fonts used in the title Sisters? This is easy to achieve using text boxes and picking a font to accent with. Want to learn more? Attend a Studio J class with me and I'll show you how.

Close To My Heart is so innovative and the new Die Cut cards are the perfect example.
These new Die-Cut cards are 8 x 3 1/2 with a scalloped flap. You get 10 of them with envelopes for $6.95. What a great value!
I have used the Florentine paper packet, new Bouquet Assortment (z1694), Baker's Twine (z1702), Twilight & Creme Brulee ink, Cricut AP cartridge, Sparkles (z1104).
I wrapped the Baker's twine around the flower from the Bouquet assortment to hold the card closed. I taped the ends of the twine behind the layered frame onto the front of the card. After stamping the swirl from The Best Things stamp set with Twilight ink on the flap I finished with the sparkles to 'bling' it up. The edges of the card are sponged with Creme Brulee ink.

Direct to Paper Technique
Direct to paper is an easy way to add some texture to paper. You take your stamp pad and rub it all over your paper. In this case, I used Bamboo cardstock and Creme Brulee ink. Make sure you don't have any bumps under your paper or it will show up.
Florentine paper makes a beautiful layout all ready to add pictures to. This layout is a pattern from Reflections Scrapbook Program.

Spirella Card
I love Close To My Heart's circle cards. They are fun to work with and I used the Cricut AP cartridge to cut the B/T circle with. Florentine paper packet makes a beautiful background for the Spirelli flower. Using Neutral Embroidery Floss this technique is easy but looks hard. My kind of technique.
Sponging the edges of the card with Twilight ink finishes the card nicely.

Love Me Tender
Love this Florentine paper and The Best Things (C1503) stamp set. I used Colonial White cardstock 8 1/2 x 4 1/4. I scored the cs at 2 1/8 and 6 3/8 so that I got a Gate fold card, meaning the two sides fold into the center.
I used Cocoa ink to stamp with. The frame is cut with the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge. The edges of the card are distressed with Cocoa ink. Finishing it all up is Glitz Glitter in bronze & silver.
While this card looks complicated, it's not! Try it

He Got It!!
If you saw the previous post, you will have learned that my son, Dalton, had applied to West Point Military Academy. We found out January 20th that they were giving him an appointment!!
What a blessing to our family! In the midst of all our heartache this is our bright, shining star.
I did this post with pictures from my phone. I love that Studio J resizes the pictures without me having to do anything. I used a paper packet in Studio J that you can no longer purchase. That is another great thing about Studio J. When you use a paper you love, it is there for a long time. And some of the paper packets are only available in Studio J.
Enjoy your day!

Career Day
Dalton has always wanted to serve his country in the military. So when it was career day at school he, of course, went as an Army soldier.
Dalton has applied to West Point Military Academy so we shall see if his dreams do come true.
I did this layout in Studio J. I added buttons into the border. This is easy to do with the copy/paste buttons. Don't know how to do this? Come to a Studio J workshop and find out.
Enjoy your day!
