Watermelon Card with Card Stock

My upline, Naomi Smith, has great ideas and I "borrowed" this one from her.
It uses just cardstock and Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge which everything.
\
The base is made from a circle cut at 5 1/2 inches and folded in half
Cut a second one is Topiary and cut it in half (you get 2 cards from 1 circle)
the white scallop circle layer is cut at 5 inches - cut in half as well
the Hollyhock circle layer is cut at 4 1/2 inches - cut in half and sponged
the "seeds" are cut at 1/2 inch and covered with Liquid Glass.
The card fits in a standard letter size envelope.

Enjoy your day!

Water Brush

Sooo, my last 2 posts got past me without any explanation. SORRY!!

I love this stamp set. I stamped it with the Close To My Heart black dye ink and used the water brush to color it in. I saw this card on the CTMH bulletin board and forgot to write down the artist name who inspired me. I love the CTMH has a place I can go to get my creative juices flowing when I'm stuck.

Enjoy the day!

Cuttle Bug Technique

This is a technique on say on Split Coast Stampers and I loved it.

Take your Cuttle Bug folder and apply ink to the inside of the folder on the flat side. When you run it through the machine the ink is then only on the low points of the paper. If you were to apply it to the raised side of the folder, the ink would then only be on the raised or embossed parts of the paper. Clear as mud?!

Again I have used the water brush to color the bird. The image is stamped with Slate ink and Lagoon & Crème Brulee are used to color it.

A little Bronze Glitz Glitter to finish it off.

Enjoy the Day!
