Dear Santa

today'sFUNNY===========================

Dear Santa,

I've been a good mom all year. I've fed, cleaned, and cuddled my two children on demand,
visited the doctor's office more than my doctor, sold sixty-two cases of candy bars to
raise money to plant a shade tree on the school playground, and figured out how to attach
nine patches onto my daughter's girl scout sash with staples and a glue gun.

I was hoping you could spread my list out over several Christmases, since I had to write
this letter with my son's red crayon, on the back of a receipt in the laundry room
between cycles, and who knows when I'll find any more free time in the next 18 years.

Here are my Christmas wishes:

I'd like a pair of legs that don't ache after a day of chasing kids (in any color, except
purple, which I already have) and arms that don't flap in the breeze, but are strong
enough to carry a screaming toddler out of the candy aisle in the grocery store.

I'd also like a waist, since I lost mine somewhere in the seventh month of my last
pregnancy.

If you're hauling big ticket items this year, I'd like a car with fingerprint-resistant
windows and a radio that plays only big-people music; a television that doesn't broadcast
any programs containing talking animals; and a refrigerator with a secret compartment
behind the crisper where I can hide to talk on the phone.

On the practical side, I could use a talking daughter doll that says, "Yes,
Mommy" to boost my parental confidence, along with one potty-trained toddler, two
kids who don't fight, and three pairs of jeans that will zip all the way up without the
use of power tools.

I could also use a recording of Tibetan monks chanting, "Don't eat in the living
room" and "Take your hands off your brother," because my voice seems to be
just out of my children's hearing range and can be heard only by the dog.

And please don't forget the Playdoh Travel Pack, the hottest stocking stuffer this year
for mothers of preschoolers. It comes in three fluorescent colors and is guaranteed to
crumble on any carpet, making the in-law's house seem just like mine.

If it's too late to find any of these products, I'd settle for enough time to brush my
teeth and comb my hair in the same morning, or the luxury of eating food warmer than room
temperature without it being served in a Styrofoam container.

If you don't mind, I could also use a few Christmas miracles to brighten the holiday
season. Would it be too much trouble to declare ketchup a vegetable? It would clear my
conscience immensely.

It would be helpful if you could coerce my children to help around the house without
demanding payment as if they were the bosses of an organized crime family; or if my
toddler didn't look so cute sneaking downstairs in his pajamas to eat contraband ice
cream at midnight.

Well, Santa, the buzzer on the dryer is ringing and my son saw my feet under the laundry
room door. I think he wants his crayon back. Have a safe trip and remember to leave your
wet boots by the chimney and come in and dry off by the fire so you don't catch cold.
Help yourself to cookies on the table, but don't eat too many or leave crumbs on the
carpet.

Yours Always, Mom

P.S. One more thing: You can cancel all my requests if you can keep my children young.

The Bronx for Hawaiian Food?

Once we got to NY, check into our hotel we took the subway to the Bronx to have dinner. My son is amazing with his phone navigating the intricacies of the subway trains. His GF & I just followed him.

The food was more Korean than Hawaiian but it was good non the less.

I used the No Limits layout in Studio J since I only had 2 pictures of us at the restaurant.

Enjoy your day!

They Don't Get Any Cuter

Here's my son and his girlfriend. Aren't they cute??

I had never taken the train from West Point into New York so we did! What a blast. The train is fairly comfortable and pretty reasonable in price. What is priceless is all the sights you get to see. If I lived on the east coast I would love to use the train to get around. Maybe I would feel differently if I lived there but as a tourist it was a blast

Enjoy your day!

Army Football

So in October I went back to New York to see my son, take in a football game at Michie stadium and do some shopping & sightseeing.

I cannot tell you how amazing it is to be at West Point watching Army football. And yes, before you ask....we lost!! Grrrrr

Enjoy your day!

A Christmas Version of 1 Corinthians 13

today'sFUNNY===========================

A CHRISTMAS VERSION OF 1 CORINTHIANS 13

If I decorate my house perfectly with plaid bows, strands of twinkling lights and shiny
balls, but do not show love, I'm just another decorator.
If I slave away in the kitchen, baking dozens of Christmas cookies, preparing gourmet
meals and arranging a beautifully adorned table at mealtime, but do not show love, I'm
just another cook.
If I work at the soup kitchen, carol in the nursing home and give all that I have to
charity, but do not show love, it profits me nothing.
If I trim the spruce with shimmering angels and crocheted snowflakes, attend a myriad of
holiday parties and sing in the choir's cantata but do not focus on Christ, I have missed
the point.
Love stops the cooking to hug the child.
Love sets aside the decorating to kiss the husband.
Love is kind, though harried and tired.
Love doesn't envy another's home that has coordinated Christmas china and table linens.
Love doesn't yell at the kids to get out of the way, but is thankful they are there to be
in the way.
Love doesn't give only to those who are able to give in return but rejoices in giving to
those who can't.
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails.
Video games will break, pearl necklaces will be lost, golf clubs will rust, but giving
the gift of love will endure.

West Point Moms

So you know my son is a cadet at the United States Military Academy at West Point, right? And this is one proud Momma!

So to celebrate together with other proud Mommas is always a pleasure. To talk about what our cadets are going through, the highs & the lows with others who "get it" is therapeutic. And add in a little food & wine is just a bonus.

Studio J again makes my being able to keep up with my scrapbooking so much easier.

Enjoy your day!

Sedona With My Family

Sedona is beautiful. My family & I spent an enjoyable afternoon driving down, eating a great lunch and visiting the art museums.

In the picture on the left you can see my mom and sister in front of a set of those beautiful mountains.

Bio Dome

So, believe it or not, I love to tour interesting attractions. It doesn't matter what  if it is an old mission, a beautiful park or a Bio Dome.

When I was down in Arizona celebrating my birthday with my sister & mom we took a road trip down to the Bio Dome. This structure was built as 7 different living environments and 8 people lived inside for 2 years without coming out.

Now I love to grow my own fruits & veggies BUT to grow your own coffee?? Not!! But that is what these folks did. It was so interesting to see how they lived, what the plant life was like, the experiments they did and the living quarters.

Studio J made this a fun way to remember my trip!

Enjoy your day

50 Is Nifty

                                     Studio J is awesome!

November was the anniversary month for Studio J so the layouts were $5.00. Normally they are $6.95 which is a great price BUT $5.00 is even better!!

I only had 5 pictures from my birthday dinner but no problem with Studio J. This layout came together in a very short amount of time and was FUN!

Try Studio J for yourself on my website. There is no charge for playing. If you'd like a private lesson, email me and we can set up some time to show you all that can be done with Studio J

Enjoy your day!
