Pillow Box/Tag Gift Card Holder

Tag inside

                                                                      Tag pulled out

Are you ever in a rush for a gift and buy a gift card? So, now you have the gift card but nothing special to put it in? How about a Tag Gift Card Holder?

Pamela O'Connor has made this with the Elemental paper packet and the Cricut AP. Using the pillow box image on the Cricut and the Tag image she has married the two into a smart little package.

The tree is made from the Vintage Type stamp set (D1481). In the Idea book they are shown as pendants but Pamela worked outside the box and made it into a Christmas tree! Very clever.

Circle Card

I love patterned paper or B/T paper. But what do you do when you run out? or when you want something alittle different? Create your own!

Here, Pamela O'Connor, as used the Love Life (D1482) stamp set to add another layer of texture on the Desert Sand CS. Alittle Hemp (Z280), alittle Pewter accents (Z1487) and she has created a darling little card.

Don't you just love finding different uses for things? Me too. This Kraft Die Cut Cart is turned into a Treat bag by Pamela O'Connor. I love that you can put goodies into a ziplock bag and suspend it from the flap and that she created a window so you can get a peek at the treats.

The stamp set Zoology (B1391) is one of our lower priced B-sized stamp sets. Only $9.95 now reduced from $13.95 in the Spring book, this set is cute & useful! Love the images and the words with the set.

Gotta love the Cricut AP cartridge too. Makes creating so much Faster. Simpler. Easier.

Live, Love, Laugh

A card from the Wishes book called Sun Dial but modified. I love that you can tweak ideas or patterns, don't you? This card made by Pamela O'Connor uses the Wishes Card Confidence book for the pattern but it is modified from a 5x7 card into a standard sized 4 1/4x5/1/2 card. The 1/2 circle is off the CD template that comes with the book. Just print off the pattern, and use it as your template. No trying to guess how it is done or trying to find something you can use that is laying around the house!
Love Life (D148) is one of my favorite stamp sets in the Autumn/Winter Idea book. I love all the swirls and shapes plus it has great sayings.
Enjoy the day!

One Fine Day

Cute, right?! Made by Pamela O'Connor & received in my national swap package. I was thrilled at everything that Pam made.
This layout is 12x12 and the pattern is from the Magic book. One-Way Mirror is the pattern on page 88 of the book. The Workshop on the Go Elemental kit is used plus new color-ready Cork alphabet (Z1450), Mini-Medley Pewter (Z1487) and, of course, the Cricut AP cartridge.
Alittle sanding, alittle sponging a you have a wonderful layout for a special picture. Now to pick just the right picture....

Believe Clear Card

Can you say whimsical? This card is the ultimate, and really cute too. Created by Sandra O'Connor and received in my national swaps, I love how she has added alot of layers and texture to this card. Notice it's a clear card? Yep, they are fun to work with and she did a terrific job.

Sorry about the shadows in the pictures. I was rushing to get this done and didn't look close at the pic until now....

Enjoy the day!

Family & Fall

I love fall! I think it's my favorite time of the year with all the leaves changing, the air smells so good and the colors. Now the colors really speak to me. I have used alot of these colors in my house and find them very calming & inviting.

This layout uses the Dreamin' paper packet and a pattern from Magic. The stamp set is Unscripted (C1465). The words are cut on the Cricut with the AP cartridge ( you can order yours today, click on the shop with me button on the right).

I love that this pattern has a hidden little journaling area or where you can put a few small pictures. It's really easy too. Just cut a 6"x6" square, score all four sides at 1 1/2", then score half way down each side at 3" but just to the 1 1/2" score line, cut away the excess so you have 4 flaps at each corner that come together in the middle. Clear as mud?!

Enjoy the day

BOO!!

While my son is too old for Halloween it's still kinda fun to create a layout ready for pictures. This layout uses the New Mischief paper packet. I love that the patterns in the B/T doesn't scream Halloween. I have also used the AP cartridge to cut the trees and the word BOO.
So Grateful (B1395) is the stamp set used for the pumpkin. What a fun set to use. I cut out the leaves and used mounting tape to give alittle dimension.
The trees were a happy mistake. As I was designing this layout I really wanted some texture on the page but didn't want more pumpkins. So I cut out a tree on the Cricut. Opps! too small. Cut another one. Opps! still too small. Try again. Ahhh, just right. But what a waste to not use the other 2 I had cut out. So viola' a spooky forest of Cricut trees! Love that cartridge!!
All the layers are edge distressed too.
Enjoy the day!

Kraft Card

Love these Kraft cards (Z1474) and the Sonoma paper. Made by Cindy Herman.
Light sponging on the card and B/T paper adds the finishing touch to a beautiful card. Pewter Mini-Medley (Z1487) adds texture that takes this card up a notch.

Tomorrow we move onto another set of swaps with a different paper packet.
Enjoy your day!

Is this stinkin' cute or what?! Yessiree, stickin' cute!
Made by Cindy Herman
Using the AP Cricut cartridge ( are you feeling like you "gotta" have it yet?) and Sonoma paper, this heart box can be made BIG or small, you chose. Here the Heart box is a darling size for a small treat or gift. The flowers are cut on the Cricut as is the tag used. Topped off with a Rhinestone bling (Z1360) and Sweet Moments (C1467) saying.
So you are wondering where to get the Cricut cartridge? Click on the Shop with Me button to your right and order one for yourself.

Sonoma Circle Card

A Colonial White Circle card is layered with Sonoma paper, sponged with Smokey Plum ink, and topped off the a resin flower from the Heirloom Assortment ( Z1635). Made by Cindy Herman, the saying "Good Time are even better when they are shared" really rings true!

Sonoma Layout

A 12x12 layout from the Magic Scrapbook Program book using the Sonoma paper packet is already for just the right picture. Made by Cindy Herman.
I love the feel of this layout. I can see using a black & white photo on it or a special occasion photo.
Cindy used the Illusion pattern on page 94 of the Magic book. The stamp set Love Life (D1482), AP Cricut cartridge, Designer Copper Brads (Z141) and Metal Brad Assortment (Z1366).

My Swaps are In!!

And they are beautiful!! Here is just a taste of what I will be sharing in the coming weeks.
This gorgeous card is made by Cindy Herman. Cindy used a standard card layered with Sonoma B/T paper. Using the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge she cut out the tag and layered it then stamped Remarkable Wreath (my favorite!) added some Red/Pink/Purple Sparkles, and Designer Brad & Chocolate Striped Ribbon to finish it off beautifully!
What till you see what else Cindy made...

Christmas Whimsy

This swap done by Roberta Miner is very whimsical. I love how she used the Happy Clusters stamp set (D1494)out of the box. This set on page 91 of the Idea Book reminds me of the 4th of July using the star but Roberta took it and made a Christmas card. The Believe paper packet, clear sparkles, and alittle embroidery floss tie it all together.
Enjoy the day!

And the Winner is....

At unit meetings there is always a "swap". This is where we call make a card, layout, 3-D item to swap with everyone else. Then during a break we vote on which item we like best.
Carol Thompson does beautiful work and she was the winner! I was lucky enough to get one of her cards too. She has used the Typeset paper, Love Life stamp set (D1482) and tons of fun accessories. Great job Carol!!

Arizona Memorial

Going to visit the Arizona Memorial is very emotional for me. To think of what that day must have been like is almost beyond my comprehension. But we had never taken Dalton out to the Memorial and we believed that he was ready for the experience and old enough to understand the sacrifices given for our freedom.
Have you thanked a soldier/sailor recently? If not, next time you see someone in uniform, give them a thank-you for all that they do to defend our country.

Loco Moco

Mornings I think are my favorite in Hawaii. The temperature is cool, the air is perfumed with plumeria and we get to eat Loco Moco. What is it? It's a local favorite and my husband, Duke, makes the best! The boys loved it too. What you do is take a BIG pile of white rice, place a hamburger steak patty over it, a couple of fried eggs and cover it all with beef gravy...ONO!!
Ready for some?
Enjoy your day!

Uncle Butch

I love to go to the swap meet at the Aloha Staduim when we are in Hawaii. It is full of vendors with local stuff, tourist stuff and food stuff! The swap meet wraps around the parking lot of the staduim and you just keep going round and shopping.Deciding that since we were "in town" we would go up to see my Uncle Butch when we were done at the swap meet and visit with him for awhile.
So up to Aiea we went. It has been a few years since I had been up to his house but we found our way to Aiea Heights rd and up we went. Uncle lives in his parents old house just below the park at the top of the hill. He has a spectacular view of Pearl Harbor.
We walked around the house and viewed all the work he has been doing on the place. Including looking at his garden. He has pineapples growing in a bucket and he picked one & gave it to Dalton. We took it home and the boys had it the next day with their breakfast. It was soooo sweet & ono...that means delicious!
This Studio J layout uses a pattern of paper that is only available to members. The "paper" is called Manmade and is wonderfully masculine. It features manly stickease like wrenches & hammers but I love the texture of the paper for the pineapple. Funny how you can use things in a different way in Studio J but they look right, and so much Faster. Simpler. Easier!
Enjoy your day!

First Day of Senior Year

Every year on the first day of school I take Dalton onto the front porch for pictures. He knows that this is expected and that I look forward to it. Not him going back to school but our time together.
As I took the pics this year it was bittersweet. This is Dalton's senior year of high school. I have decided to enjoy this year and not look ahead to what it means. That next year at this time he will be at or getting ready to go to college.
So we took our time. He smiled. He held up a 1 & 2 fingers to indicate that he is in 12th grade. I nagged him to show his teeth since we paid alot of money to make them so nice. And then we were done....sigh!
Enjoy your day!

Magic Card

I love going to my uplines, Naomi Smith, unit meetings. There consultants from all over gather quarterly to share information, ideas and have alot of fun.
This card was one that Naomi shared with us. It uses the Wonderland paper packet and Snowflakes stamp set (D1480). Snowflakes has images that can be cut on the Cricut with the new Art Philosophy cartridge or you can cut out with ease. If you'd like the AP cartridge, go shopping with me by pushing the "Shop with Me" icon to your right.
Look to make this card at an upcoming Card workshop. The next one is Oct 1st or for a Mega Christmas card workshop Oct 15th.
Enjoy the day!

A Funny...

A woman in a supermarket has been walking behind a grandfather and his badly-behaved,
3-year-old grandson. It's obvious to her that he has his hands full with the child
screaming for sweets in the sweet aisle, cookies in the cookie aisle, and for fruit,
cereal and soda in the other aisles.

Meanwhile, Granddad is working his way around, saying in a controlled voice, "Easy,
William, we won't be long, easy, boy."

Another outburst, and she hears the granddad calmly say, "It's okay, William, just a
couple more minutes and we'll be out of here. Hang in there, boy."

At the checkout, the little terror is throwing items out of the cart, and Granddad says
again in a controlled voice, "William, William, relax buddy, don't get upset. We'll
be home in five minutes; stay cool, William."

Very impressed, the woman goes outside where the grandfather is loading his groceries and
the boy into the car. She said to the elderly gentleman, "It's none of my business,
but you were amazing in there. I don't know how you did it. That whole time, you kept
your composure, and no matter how loud and disruptive he got, you just calmly kept saying
things would be okay. William is very lucky to have you as his grandpa."

"Thanks," said the grandfather, "but I'M William ... the little brat's
name is Kevin."

This cracked me up when I read it. Haven't we all had days like this? Maybe we were the one whining & complaining. But our gracious God keeps His cool with us and loves us no matter what.

JUMP!

Our day on Dr. G's boat included the boys jumping off the top deck into the water. We were anchored off Waikiki beach in gorgeous blue water. After the boys got up from their nap they spent hours jumping off, climbing back up and off again. Over and over and over again.
Andy especially loved this but got sooo sunburned that day even with sunscreen on.
In between being quesy I snapped pics. What a day!

Look Ma!

Hey Ma, can I take the spear gun down to the beach & see what I get? Oh sure Honey, whatever.
Did I think he'd get something? No, of course not. Dalton and Andy had been snorkeling with the spear several times and didn't get anything so I wasn't worried. But leave it to Dalton to come back successful.
Andy was sunburned & didn't want to go, so Dalton went down alone. He was gone alittle while and then the door to the condo opened. Much to everyone's surprise he had speared an eel!
He, of course, wanted to cook it. I was like "NO!". He's dad convinced him to throw it back but not before we snapped some pics.
Enjoy the day!
