Forever Love

We had family portraits done in January by Ann Chase Photography. I love the work that Ann does and she didn't disappoint!

It's been awhile since I've done any scrapbooking with all the my family has been going through. But I love using Studio J to get instant gratification with my downloadable jpgs. And then in a week or so I will get the printed layouts.

Did you know in Studio J you can flip a picture horizontally or vertically? Notice the pictures on the right hand side? The one on the right is one that I flipped so that I was in the center & my husband was on the outside of the frames in both.

I used an older kit, Wings, because I loved the colors. That's another wonderful thing about Studio J. You have access to older paper kits that are no longer available to purchase. I have resized some of the Stickease and mixed the fonts.

I love how this turned out...hope you do too.

A Guiltless Birthday Cake

I love sweets...any kind! But this cake can be enjoyed without any guilt. Using the Lucy paper packet and a pattern from Wishes, I made this card for a workshop.

What I really love is that it doesn't take alot of paper and you can add embellishments in a unique way. My flowers are actually covering up a mistake but no one would know if I didn't tell.

I love the new Paradise Paper flowers, don't you?

The new stamp set Kick Back (D1511  $17.95) is so fun. It makes me want to lay on a beach in Hawaii with a cool drink. Yum!!

Footloose paper packet and the new Colonial White Die-Cut cards, alittle Bakers Twine, and the Bohemian Assortment round out this card.

You Are My Sunshine, My Only Sunshine

I love this new stamp set Play Day (D1515  $17.95) which features 7 wonderful stamps of little kids playing, swinging, jumping rope. Think of all the things you can do with it.

Using the Footloose paper packet and one of the White Die-cut cards this card is a pattern from Originals card book. I'm very sad that the card & scrapbooking books are going to be retired. I know that CTMH will bring out something in their place that will be just as good or better.

Check out the Paradise paper flowers ( Z1710  $5.95).  You receive 68 flowers of 4 styles in the package. Creme Brulee, Lagoon, Smoothie, Sunset are the colors of the flowers.

To finish the card a few Bitty Opaque Pearls (Z1336  $2.95)  are used.

Enjoy Life

Created by Krista Hershberger

Isn't this turtle cute? Did you notice he is paper pieced? What is that? Look at the body of the turtle. Notice it looks dimensional? That because Krista stamped a second turtle and cut out the body portion. She then mounted it with mounting tape over the first turtle she stamped to give the turtle some depth.

Durable studs (Z1705  $3.95) add just alittle something to this card as does the Bakers Twine (Z1702 $4.95).

Best Fishes

Created by Krista Hershberger

Using the Workshop on the Go (C1500  $29.95) and the new Footloose paper packet this fun card can be made using the pattern from the Wishes book. The name of the pattern is "Timeless Trio".

Did you notice that the ribbon matches the New England Ivy cardstock? This is the new Color Ready ribbon (Z1732  $6.95) which you can dye with an ink pad, use the spray pens  or stamp onto. You get 10 yards of ribbon on the spool which makes it a great deal.

Just For You

Another card using the Stella paper pack...are you tired of it yet? Me either!

I used the Wishes card book, which is retiring soon, and the pattern is called Gallery. This is the card in the Spring/Summer Idea book on page 18.

I have used a Col White card base.
I adhered the Stella b/t paper to the left of center.
Then I took a Cocoa marker and put a box around the b/t paper. Then using my paper piercer and the CTMH Ruler, which has holes down one side so you can align things perfectly or use it like I did to put holes in a perfect row, I faux stitched the line without a sewing machine. LOVE THIS!!!!
I cut the flower in the Cricut which this stamp set Just For You (B1398  $9.95) has in it. Stamp the dotted line stamp with Cocoa. Stamp the petals with Lagoon ink then rolled into Olive ink. Sponged the edges with Cocoa. Mounted with mounting tape.
The swirl is a piece of the Sparkle Flourishes (Z1798  $4.95). This set of flourishes is huge and so I cut off a piece of the largest flourish to use...waste not, want not.
The banner is a piece of Cocoa cs with Col White cs mounted onto it with the saying stamped onto it.
Sponge the whole card with Cocoa ink

Potential...March Stamp of the Month

I love the simplicity of this card. The original was by Angela Tutton and I just tweaked it. I have to "glitz" things up abit...I think I get that from my Mom!

Sunset cardstock is stamped with Sunset ink using the March SOM, Potential. Then Cocoa ink is used for the sentiment, which I love.
A 1 1/4" piece of Cocoa cardstock is adhered to the left side of the card and a bit of Dark Chocolate Grosgrain ribbon is knotted on top. Glitz glitter Bronze is added down the sides of the CS and dotted onto the stamped whirl image.
A paper butterfly sponged with Sunset ink, mounted down the center with mounting tape is added to finish off the card. A Sparkle  is put in place for the butterflies head.

Thanks Stella

The new Stella paper packet is gorgeous! I've been playing with it all day today getting ready for a workshop and falling more and more in love with it.

This card uses one stamp Thanks (A1125  $6.95), one ink Sunset and the Stella paper. The flower is made with the Cricut AP cartridge & cut at 2 1/2".

Layer a piece of Stella b/t paper 3" x 4 1/4 " onto the bottom of a standard sized Col White card base.
Using the Zip-strip from the b/t paper, adhere that just above the b/t paper.
Stamp the Thanks in Sunset onto a piece of Col White cs, cut out, sponge the edges with Sunset ink.
Use mounting tape behind the Thanks and adhere to card.
Cut a flower at 2 1/2" on the Cricut AP using Stella b/t paper. Roll up. Use a glue dot to hold it together. Once it is rolled up, bend the petals outwards. Add Glitz Glitter glue to center and petals. Place a Opaque Pearl in the center.
Sponge all the edges of the card with Sunset ink.

All About Dad

                                           Created by Lynn Christopher

I love the how-to books that Close To My Heart offers. Did you know they are going to retire at the end of July? It's true, sad but true. I use these books all the time and am hoping that CTMH is coming out with something to replace them.

This 12x12 layout is from Magic Scrapbooking Program book. The pattern is called Juggling Act. And, of course, the Cricut AP cartridge cuts some of the elements for you like the Dad, fleur de lis, and diamonds. Color Ready ribbon dyed Sweet Leaf to match and a few sparkles finish off the layout to perfection.

Fashionista

                                           Created by Lynn Christopher

A standard sized card (4 1/4 x 5 1/2) is used to make this stylish card. Using the stamp set Fashionista ( D1504  $17.95) and Cotton Candy ink this card makes a statement I can relate to.

The saying " Whoever said money can't buy happiness....simply didn't know where to go shopping."  speaks for itself. I love how Lynn used just the body of the stamp set and left off the head/feet.

Alittle Color Ready Ribbon, Prisma Glitter, Sparkles and Foam tape round out this great card.

A Spring Has Sprung

                                           Created by Lynn Christopher

Love this Lucy circle card. When you use the Cricut AP cartridge to cut out the circle B/T layer, and  the flowers this card is quick and easy.

The stamp set Just for You (B 1398  $9.95) is so versatile. You can cut the flower out on the Cricut or by hand. Layering them on top of each other adds dimension.

Did you notice the butterfly? Isn't it fabulous? It's from a stamp called Quick Cards-Butterfly (A1120  $6.95). If you want just the butterfly without the words, just cut it out. Then notice the spring.

Adhesive Springs (Z1725  $2.95) are new in the Idea book. You receive 6 adhesive springs to pop up artistic elements. Think about Easter bunnies, Birthday presents, Christmas ornaments. The ideas are endless.

Cruisin' USA

Created by DeAnn Buser

This 12x12 layout is all ready for my pictures! I love how the different embellishments really make this layout "pop". Dimensional Elements Mixed Shapes, Liquid Glass, distressing and images cut with the Cricut AP cartridge all work together so well.

Did you notice the Bottle Caps? Aren't they fabulous? And the Baker's Twine adds a nice texture.

Cruisin'

Created by DeAnn Buser

I love the new paper packet Cruisin'. I even love to type the word....weird!

Don't you love this card? It was from the national swap I participated in. Love the motorcycle, the barb wire and all the distressing.

The stamp set is called Born to Ride (C1483) and I just ordered mine. My husband rides Harleys, so of course I had to have this stamp set.
